There is a hidden message in this poem --

Slowly but steadily,
The bill rises readily.
Money thrown in the trash,
Like a fly to smash.
With each passing hour,
The bills continue to tower.
Energy is wasted, thrown down the drain,
Oh, what a pain.
The economy is crashed,
Our self esteem is smashed.
Our money is gone,
Strewn all over the lawn.
Dad works harder every day,
Trying so hard the bills to pay.
Money is tight,
But forget all that: where’s the light?!
We’ll work like slaves,
We’ll live in caves,
We’ll get no rest,
Maybe a wink at best.
We’ll all begin to starve,
Then in trees will we carve,
The date of our birth,
The hour of our mirth,
And the moment we die
With a sigh.
Yes, we’ll do all this,
Forget every moment of bliss.
Only turn on the light!
All darkness must go on a flight!
Can’t you see?
How can you waste another tree?

But that’s just the way it’s gonna be;
No one listens to me.

Poem ~~ Clouds Bumping Together

Booming and crashing
Accompanied by violent flashing;
Trembling leaves,
Shaking the eaves.
Dogs are scared out of their mind,
There’s never been anything of the kind!
Little birds in the trees
Fall on their knees,
Frightened beyond words
Shaking like a box of Nerds.
Lions roar, “No more!”
For their cubs are frightened to the core.
Babies wail,
The beaver flaps his tail
The sun ceases to shine,
The lightning strikes in a line.
Dad comes flying home from work,
Just so he can lurk
In the safety of his own home,
Looking like a hunched-over gnome.
Eyes wild with fright,
Heart pounding with all its might.
Fists clenched, eyes closed,
He’s a man posed
In pure and utter panic.
Are they all gonna sink like the Titanic?
Mom huddles on the floor,
Whispering, “Please, no MORE!”
She races to the basement,
To put herself in an encasement
Away from that horrible crashing noise.
Little boys
Drop their toys,
As window panes rattle,
And the house itself begins to tattle:
“Don’t get me wrong, but oh my!
I THINK WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!”
What is this horrible thing?
This thing that threatens to bring
Calamity upon the whole world?
Are we all to death to be hurled?
Is it some violent upheaval of the weather?
Why no, it’s simply the clouds bumping together.
